If you physically control the movement of the MEWP platform, you MUST have an Operator license (PAL Card) for that specific category (e.g., 3a or 3b).
If you plan the work or supervise operators but don’t operate the machine yourself, the ‘MEWPs for Managers’ course is the correct qualification.
To save time, we often combine Operator categories (e.g., 3a & 3b) into a single day course, providing broader certification in less time.

The standard IPAF Operator course (covering 1 or 2 categories like 3a & 3b) is a full one-day course, typically lasting from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
You must be at least 16 years old and physically fit. No prior driving license is required, but previous experience with machinery is helpful.
If you fail the theory but pass the practical (or vice versa), you can usually retake the failed portion. Our instructors provide ample support to help you pass.
No, MEWPs for Managers is a classroom-based (or eLearning) theory course focusing on planning and legislation. It does not qualify you to operate machines.
