Official IPAF Certificate (PAL Card)
The Powered Access Licence (PAL) Card is the globally recognized proof of training for MEWP operators. Valid for 5 years.

Certificate Types
Understanding the different forms of IPAF certification available to successful candidates.
Digital PAL Card (ePAL)
The standard format. Your license is issued instantly to the ePAL app on your phone. It’s secure, shareable, and holds your digital logbook.
Physical PAL Card
A printed plastic card (credit card size) with your photo and categories. Available upon request for an additional fee.
Certificate of Training
An A4 paper certificate issued alongside your card. Useful for company HR records and display in offices.
Logbook
Operators must record their machine time. You get a digital logbook in the app or a physical booklet to prove your ongoing experience.

How to obtain your IPAF Certificate.

Book Training
Select your required category (e.g., 3a & 3b) and book a date at our centre.

Pass Theory
Complete the theory module and pass the multiple-choice test (classroom or eLearning).

Pass Practical
Demonstrate your competence in operating the machine safely during the practical test.

Receive Card
Your license is processed immediately. Access your digital card via the ePAL app.

Common questions about the PAL Card.
How long is the certificate valid for?
The IPAF PAL Card is valid for 5 years. You must retake the course (or a renewal module) before the expiry date to stay licensed.
Can I get a plastic card?
Yes, while digital is standard, you can request a printed physical card for a small additional fee when booking.
What if I lose my card?
If you have the ePAL app, you can’t lose it! If you lost a physical card, contact us to order a replacement or switch to digital.
Is this recognized outside the UK?
Yes, the IPAF PAL Card is recognized worldwide as the gold standard for MEWP operator training.
