“Great course for our street lighting team. The instructor really emphasized the importance of setting outriggers correctly.”
“I use a spider lift for tree work. This course gave me the confidence to set it up safely on slopes.”
“Efficient 1b training. We brought our own van mount and the instructor trained us in our yard.”
Common questions about static boom courses.
No. If you can drive while elevated, you need a 3b (Mobile Boom) license. 1b machines must be static with outriggers deployed to elevate.
Yes, IPAF strongly recommends a full body harness with an adjustable restraint lanyard for all boom type platforms, including 1b static booms.
Sometimes. Depending on time and machine availability, it may be possible to combine, but 1b is often a standalone day due to the specific setup training required.
At our centres, yes. For on-site training, you usually provide the machine (e.g., your own van mount), but we can arrange hire if needed.
