What is the PAL Card?

Proof of Competence

The PAL Card (Powered Access Licence) is proof that the holder has successfully completed training to operate Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWPs), or Construction Hoists (CHs) safely and effectively.

IPAF training is comprehensive and globally recognised. Major organizations like Skyjack and Openreach insist on IPAF-trained personnel because the programme is developed by leading industry professionals and certified by TÜV to ISO 18878.

Digital ePAL

Since June 2021, PAL Cards in the UK & Ireland are issued digitally via the free ePAL app. This eco-friendly solution puts your licence, logbook, and safety guides in your pocket.

5-Year Validity

Your PAL Card is valid for five years from the date of your successful training assessment. Renewal courses are available to extend this validity.

Global Acceptance

Accepted on construction sites worldwide. It is the standard for safety and shows you have been trained to the highest specification.
