Note: PAV is distinct from Mobile Vertical (3a).
The smarter, safer alternative to ladders and steps.
Moving to Push Around Verticals improves safety compliance and efficiency.
Falls from ladders are a major cause of workplace injury. PAVs provide a guarded platform, preventing falls and allowing two-handed work.
Using proper access equipment presents a professional image to clients and meets the hierarchy of control for Work at Height Regulations.
PAVs are simple to push into position and elevate. They reduce fatigue compared to climbing ladders repeatedly throughout the day.
“Great half-day course. We use Pop-Ups for all our office refits now. The team feels much safer than on steps.”
“I added the PAV module to my 3a course. It was quick, easy, and now I’m covered for the little machines too.”
“The instructor came to our shop floor and trained 8 of us on our own Ecolifts. Very convenient and efficient.”
Common questions about Push Around Vertical courses.
Technically they are separate categories. However, holding a 3a (Mobile Vertical) license often allows you to operate PAVs after a short familiarisation. Some sites strictly require the PAV category on your card.
The standalone PAV course is typically a half-day (approx 4 hours). It can be shorter if done as an add-on to another IPAF category.
Generally, no. IPAF guidance does not mandate harnesses for vertical lifts like PAVs unless a specific site risk assessment requires it.
Yes! In fact, it’s often better to train on the specific model (e.g., Pecolift, Power Tower) you own. We can send an instructor to your premises.
