Typically, no. IPAF guidance recommends harnesses for boom lifts (3b/1b) but not usually for vertical lifts (3a), unless a specific site risk assessment requires it.
Users must perform a pre-use check before every wear. A formal detailed inspection must be carried out by a competent person at least every 6 months.
Yes, the qualification is valid for 5 years, aligning with the IPAF PAL Card renewal cycle.
