Frequently Asked Questions

How long does IPAF training take?

Depending on the training, courses generally last one to two days. This is a mixture of theory (unless eLearning has been completed beforehand) and practical training, concluding with a written and practical test.

Do I get a PAL Card?

Yes. The majority of IPAF MEWP, MCWP and Construction Hoist courses, if passed, will qualify you for a Powered Access Licence (PAL Card). It is globally recognised proof that you have been trained to the highest standard.

How long is the PAL Card valid for?

Your PAL Card lasts for five years (dependent on your country/region regulations). Renewal training is available before expiry.

Where can I train?

Training is provided by IPAF Approved Training Centres. We can also conduct training on your site if it meets the necessary safety and equipment requirements (audited by our instructors).
